PTSO officers:

President: Tina Drew
My son Ian is a junior this year. We have been at UPA since he started 8th grade in the fall of 2008. I have previously served one semester each as PTSO treasurer and secretary and I was president last semester. I guess I just fill in wherever I'm needed! My main interest is getting UPA families involved. The success of your child's education is a result of teamwork. We must all do our part to make it happen the way we want it to whether it's serving on a steering committee, fundraising for scholarships, donating materials for the teachers, driving kids to a ball game, or baking a cake for an event. Every effort is important and necessary! I also run the used uniform sale and exchange. If you have used uniforms in very good condition that you would like to donate, exchange or sell, or if you need to buy any uniform pieces at great prices (all funds raised support the school) contact me at 408-885-1466 or tbdrew@yahoo.com
Vice President:Pat McDaid
I am the father of Kelsey in 10th grade. This is her third year at UPA. I have been involved with the UPA PTSO throughout this time, helping with various events as well as establishing the PTSO as tax exempt 501(c)3 organization. I served as vice president of the PTSO last year. In years past I coached youth soccer and robotics at the elementary school level. Contact me at pmcdaid@gmail.com

Ways and Means Co-Chairperson: Andrea Fleiner
I have 2 children at UPA, Lukas in 10th grade and Rebecca in 8th grade and this year we are hosting a foreign exchange student, Suus, who will be in 12th grade. I am one half of the fundraising team for UPA and look forward to working with the parents. We will try to raise funds to support the school mostly in helping organize and through financial support for certain events. In my life before kids I was an elementary school teacher in Switzerland and live in San Jose since 1998. andrea@fleiner.com (408) 629-0870
Ways and Means Co-Chairperson: Scott Denham
Social Commitee Chairperson: Creola L. Manson
Hi! My name is Creola Manson and my son is an eleventh grader by the name of Dallas. We have been a part of UPA since its beginning stages, and we believe hard work, dedication, and fellowship will bring the UPA family close and make us the type of school you will be proud to have your children graduate from. Every graduating class has a story, and every child attending UPA is special. That is why our PTSO is so important. We are helping to guide teachers and students together to make their lives a success! We have plenty of events and this year let's put the S back into PTSO. Encourage them to come to us, and work with us, to work or them. I am the Social Chair and there is plenty of work to do.
Membership Chairperson: Judy McDowell
My daughter, Sabrina, is a junior this year, and she started at UPA as a freshman. I was delighted that she was able to enroll in this small, focused school with such excellent teachers and administrators. My goal for UPA is to have the majority of households signed up to serve their hours so that the school gets all the help it needs from parents. If anyone has questions about membership, give me a call at 408-483- 2730, or email me at financing@judymcdowell.com
